In the year 2000 I wanted to try something different and weight lifting really caught my interest.
I´ve always had more passion for individual sports where I can just count on my own performance.
Then one day when I was in the gym training, at age 18-19 the gym owner Sigurður Gestsson, approached
me with the idea of competing in fitness. He became my trainer and I´ve gotten to where I am today because of him.
Favorite exercises change from time to time, at the moment it´s anything to do with shoulders. I also enjoy changing things up with different strategies but I mainly stick with the basic bodybuilding style weight training, low reps and heavy weight.
I lift weights five times a week, then when it gets closer to competition I start adding in cardio sessions, from three to five a week.
I work as a personal trainer so my day starts at 6.am and ends at around 7 or 8 in the evening. I try to schedule
my workouts in between clients, so that differs from day to day.
Recently I´ve started using Muay Thai as my cardio and it´s awesome. But I havent trained any martial seriously.
More like an extra hobby
Yes. I always keep my diet very clean to stay in shape all year around. But when it come closer to competition it
gets even more strict and cleaner. I´ve always done my best to stay in shape and never lose my sixpack ;)
Like most other people I like chicken the most. It´s easy and simple.
I use supplements from AST. I use their Whey Protein, Creatine, Glutamine. I also take ZMA before bedtime
and a NO product before training.
If you are serious about getting results, get a personal trainer. Also get a good training partner.
Nothing works as well as training with a friend who can drive and push you when training, especially
when you can do the same for them.
Weight lifting and training for competitions has gotten me to where I am today.
It has taught me discipline and self control that I can use in real life. No matter what your goals
are I encourage you to keep exercising and eating right.
Im 26 years old. I have been competing in fitness for some years and I am five times Icelandic champion in fitness. I have been competing all over the world with really good results...
